Fulltext databases

In databases you can search for articles on a subject in many journals at the same time. Fulltext- databases often covers journals from one specific publisher.

Subject specific

  • ACM Digital Library
    Association for Computing Machinery is a publisher specialized in computer science.
    The Digital Library covers about 60 journals and 160 conference series. The fulltext library is accompanied by a big reference database with links to other computer science publishers.
  • CoRR - Computing Research Repository
    Freely available e-print archive with reports and parallel published journal articles.
  • IEEE Xplore
    The university library subscribes to the complete IEEE/IET Electronic Library (IEL) through the Xplore interface It covers almost 200 journals and about 900 conference series from IEEE and IET in computer science and electronics with applications in humanities, social sciences and medicine. More than 2000 IEEE standards are also included.
  • SciTech Connect
    Documents from US Department of Energy and associated organizations


  • Academic Search Elite
    Covers journals from many publishers on every subject.
    About 50% fulltext and then links to other full-text databases.
    A good starting point for searching of both scholarly and more popular articles.
  • Emerald
    Covers 15 journals in information and knowledge management.
  • ScienceDirect (fulltext to june 2018)
    Covers about 150 computer science journals and 250 engineering journals
  • SpringerLink
    Covers about 100 computer science journals and 230 engineering journals.
  • Wiley Online Library
    Covers about 30 computer science journals and 110 engineering journals.

Contains primarily references and abstracts but have links to full-text databases.

  • ACM Digital Library  
    Includes references and abstracts to 1200 journals, books, dissertations, conference papers and reports from other computer science publishers.
  • ASCE - Civil engineering database (CEDB)
    Freely availalble. References and abstracts to publications from the American Society of Civil Engineers.
  • Inspec
    Includes references and abstracts to 5 000 journals, 2 500 conference proceedings plus books, dissertations and reports in technology, physics, electronics, computer science and information technology. Links to fulltext. Contains a thesaurus.
  • Multidisciplinary
  • Discovery
    An integrated search service principally for journal articles and e-books. The service includes data on about 300 million documents and covers many of the library's subscribed databases. Links to the fulltext databases.
  • Google Scholar
    Indexes free web resources and many commercial publishers' journal archives as well. Links to fulltext and citing articles.
  • Web of Science
    References and abstracts to journal articles and conference papers in every subject. Covers about 400 computer science journals and 800 engineering journals. Links to citing articles and a function for searching cited author and/or cited document.
  • Scopus
    An alternative to Web of Science covering more journals and conference series.

    Indexes a number of e-print archives in computer and information science. Links to 1,7 million fulltext documents and information on more than 30 million cited documents. Detailed citing statistics.
