CURRENT RESEARCH
- Food Security and Health Equity (FSHp8)- Part of SIDA program 2018-2022. The project aims to study the relationship between food insecurity and chronic diseases; the role of food choice on health outcomes, climate change impact on food security and policy in food security and health partners: Eduardo Mondlane University, Uppsala University, Chalmers, University of Lund, University of Stelenbosch and, Nova University Lisbon); Elsa Maria Salvador, Jose da Cruz Francisco, Anneli Martila, Olalekan Uthman, Stig Vimberg.
- Corporate Social Responsibility, Population Health and Marketing (CSR-PhaM)
- Responsible Leadership and Stakeholders Health Promotion (RLeSH) (2018-2023). The project aims to investigate the impact of CSR strategies and Responsible Leadership on internal and external stakeholders health promotion. (Partners: University of Malta, Lithuanian University of Health Sciences, ISPUP, Eduardo M.University).
- Social Entrepreneurship and Sustainable Health Promotion (SESHP) (2018-2023). The project examines the role of social enterprises in health promotion in a context of sustainable development. - Climate Change and Contextual Health Inequalities (ClicH) (2018- 2023). This research assesses how climate change and its driving forces influence inequalities of health outcomes in urban and rural contexts. Partners: Lithuanian University of Health Sciences; Eduardo M. My main research interests are “Social determinants of Population Health" and “Population Dynamics and Health". Social determinants of health are the economic and social conditions -- and their distribution among the population -- that influence individual and group differences in health status. They are risk factors found in one's living and working conditions (e.g. the distribution of education, income, wealth, influence, power). The distribution of social determinants is shaped by public policies that reflect the influence of prevailing political ideologies of those governing a jurisdiction.
