I am a PhD student in Indoor environment with chemical orientation. My research is conducted on birch pollen and the content of the major allergen Bet v 1. I use an ELISA (Enzyme-Linked ImmunoSorbent Assay) like method where allergens from birch pollen grains are adsorbed on PTFE-filters. Antibodies are allowed to bind to the allergens and then after several steps a light emitting product is obtained. The amount of emitted light is in direct proportion to the quantity of allergen. This method is sensitive enough to be able to measure the content of Bet v 1 in single pollen grain, which is unique.
I teach a course in Environmental chemistry 7,5 hp which will be replaced in 2017 by Environmental- and water chemistry 7,5 hp.
