Johan Liljestrand is a member of research groups ROLE and ECE, University of Gävle.

- The depiction of Christianity in Swedish Compulsory RE. Together with the group Religion Didactics in Gävle, ReDiG and the members David Carlson and Peder Thalén.

My main area comprises the role of education for democratic citizenship, and religion and pedagogy with a focus on pluralism. I have an interest in how teacher education can collaborate with foremost the preschool sector, as well as an interest for pedagogy in higher education.
