Stimulating good health in companies and the public sector is an important issue since ill-health connected to work means that productivity deteriorates and profitability decreases.
The Master programme in Health at work- which was introduced autumn 2011 - aims to give you the skills to work strategically to prevent work related ill-health. You will specialize in how the body reacts to physical and mental stress, how different types of work injuries can be prevented and how the work can be organized in order for the co-workers to feel good.
People with the professional skills to work strategically with work environment and health in working life are needed in a number of different functions: company health care, human resources, the Swedish Social Insurance Agency (Försäkringskassan) and the public sector.
The new Master programme in Health at work is for those who already have a minimum of a Bachelor´s degree and 30 credits within medicine, psychology, physical education, preventive health care, public health sciences, the science of education pedagogics, nursing science, rehabilitation, leadership or organization and management. The programme is given as distance learning at a study rate of 50 per cent.
Prerequisites
- Degree at the undergraduate level that includes at least 180 ECTS credits
- 30 ECTS credits in any of the subjects medicine, psychology, sports, fitness, public health science, pedagogy, nursing science, rehabilitation, leadership, organization and governance or other adequate subject.
In addition, knowledge of Swedish and English is required, corresponding to what is required for basic eligibility for Swedish higher education at the undergraduate level.
